Individuals interested in learning successful weight loss strategies, grocery shopping tips, cooking light, eating on the go and dealing with the common pitfalls of weight loss can take advantage of a free weight control series being offered by the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness.
Classes in April will be held on Thursdays (April 5, 12, 19, and 26) from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at the Louisville Urban League at 1535 W. Broadway.
"This is a very helpful series of classes for people who want to get healthy and lose weight," said Margaret Heyn, registered dietician with the chronic disease prevention team with the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. "Participants receive body fat analysis and an individually calculated calorie level with a meal plan appropriate for those with or without diabetes."
The series is conducted by a registered dietitian, free of charge. Participants must register in advance by calling 574-6663.
