Review Summary
Genaslim is a dietary supplement which works as an appetite suppressant. It belongs to the line of nutritional supplements under the Country Life brand which is available everywhere, from health food stores to discount stores, drug stores to online stores. The company is known for its wide range of effective nutritional supplements. This good reputation, however, does not always mean success for product users.
Genaslim is promoted as a product that can help dieters control their hunger and food cravings. It boasts of a new ingredient, Caralluma Fimbriata which is said to have weight loss properties. In this review, we shall be taking a close look at this product to find out what it has to offer.
Ingredients at a Glance
Genaslim includes the ingredient Slimaluna, the patented form of Caralluma Fimbriata. It also contains Green Tea.
Ingredients in Focus
Caralluma Fimbriata is a fairly new weight loss ingredient which is why many consumers are still unfamiliar with it. In India, it is considered a vegetable but in botany it is classified as an edible succulent. Indians relied on it during times of famine because aside from being nutritious, the herb readily grew in the countryside.
The main question in this context is whether Caralluma Fimbriata works effectively in suppressing the appetite. It has done quite well in clinical trials unfortunately however, there is also a dearth of information on this herb except for that which has been posted by the manufacturer of Slimaluma, its patented version. When information about a certain ingredient is scarce, we chose to be very prudent in our assessment of it.
This herb has been considered as an alternative to Hoodia by some people. As far as we are concerned however, this is not the case. We do not think that this ingredient has been proven to specifically help dieters achieve their weight loss but some manufacturers would try to make people think otherwise. Hoodia however, has been clinically proven to effectively curb the appetite and control food cravings.
This herb contains 'P57' which works by sending a message to the brain that says the stomach is full even if it isn't. In this way, it helps dieters who have the tendency to sabotage their diets by succumbing to hunger pangs. For centuries, the bushmen of Africa used it to control hunger and even thirst whenever they went on long hunting trips. After many centuries, science has finally proven the tribesmen to be right.
Diet Lifestyle
The Green Tea extract in Genaslim boosts its thermogenic ability. Although Caralluma Fimbriata causes no side-effects, Green Tea does. While this ingredient is rich in antioxidants, it also contains caffeine which causes tremors, anxiety, sleepless and restlessness for some users. People who have eliminated caffeine from their diet may find this information useful.
The good news is that caffeine is not the only ingredient available with thermogenic abilities. Advantra-Z®, which is the patented version of Bitter Orange, has been used as a substitute for Ephedra. It is a potent fat burner and metabolism booster which does not cause any of the severe side-effects of its predecessor.

Final Thoughts
Genaslim may enable some users to experience weight loss despite the fact that the formulation contains Caralluma Fimbriata, a generally unfamiliar ingredient to most people for which the only readily available research is provided by the manufacturer of "Slimaluna", its patented form. We prefer research backing up an ingredient's abilities to come from outside sources but we do appreciate that the website has a posted a link to the previously mentioned study.
Overall, in our opinion, Hoodia is the better appetite suppressant by a wide stretch. Moreover, its effectiveness has been proven in many independent studies. Green Tea, on the other hand, may have anti-cancer properties although as a thermogenic agent, it is no match for Advantra-Z® which has been shown to significantly increase fat burning in users leading to weight loss.
