What method of losing weight these days can one really say is the best way to lose weight? We have heard of eating less or reducing calorie intake, we have been told about exercising regularly, some have even engaged themselves in unhealthy eating habits just in the name of wanting to lose weight. And our media has not help matters at least for now. They have been presenting us with underfed women as models in fashion shows-I wonder if they want our kids to be taking these bulimic celebs as role models.
We all know the problems associated with overweight people and I don't pray that any one of us should find ourselves in their shoes but I think we have to be cautious about how we tackle overweight problems. Some people have now become so desperate that they can and will do anything just in the name of shedding their weight.
In a way, one might want to agree with these people so eager to lose their weight after all reports show that Americans are spending more than a billion dollar collectively on weight loss products every year and it is estimated that about two-third of the people living in America alone are obese. Around the world we would be talking of around 760 million people suffering from obesity related problems. So should we justify what they are doing?
In fairness to our overweight brothers and sisters I might a little bit see reason with them or feel what they are enduring and I emphasize with them.
On their health, they knew they are susceptible to having diseases like cardiovascular disease, High blood pressure, skeletal disorders (such as arthritis and gall bladder disease), and diabetes.
What about their social life? They always have these feelings that they would be stigmatized whenever they go. Some might even find it difficult to hang out with friends because the vim or enthusiasm might just not be there.
Fashion wise, whether good or bad almost every male wants to get married to a slim lady. In fact, this fact is becoming the in-thing where I come from.
In addition to the above stated facts, the psychological effect of all these is that an overweight person now sees himself or herself as a failure. General unhappiness, nervous tension, diffidence, low self esteem, embarrassment and loneliness will now creep in.
With all these specifics an overweight person will now be so desperate to lose weight. Now what advice can I give?
Mind you, I will never advice frantic measures to get rid of bulkiness. The one very good thing I can advise is to consult your doctor to know which weight management options are best for your specific needs.
After this comes the best way to lose weight which is to focus on effective and natural weight loss. By natural weight loss I mean they should lower their caloric intake and at the same time increasing the amount of calories they burn through regular exercises. A short walk around your garden 3 times a day is part of the exercise.
If they can make these changes to be part of their normal habit, they will definitely keep the weight off. There is no miracle about it.
