So many of us these days are quick to jump to the conclusion that our weighing scales must be broken and avoid the harsh reality called truth when the figures we see are not the figures we want to see. So by being in denial, is this actually helping you to continue to loose weight successfully and make the steps you need to take in order to reach your perfect weight?
I want you to try something new. When you step on to those weighing scales, I need you to look at your glass half full and say 'the more weight I gain, the more weight I have to loose' as you accept those figures, whether you have put on weight or lost it.
This will automatically put you in the correct state of mind to start you off on a good diet or weight loss plan that lasts instead of crashes and burns before you even reach the first week.
So how can you do this you may wonder?
Well to begin, you should tell your family and close friends. This way they can not only keep an eye out for you if you step out of place on your diet, but this will also provide you with the needed support, helping you to set your goals and stick to them as well.
There are a couple of things you will also do well to identify and these are:
-Identify your ideal body weight
-Identify your ideal exercise
The first identification check point will enable you to make realistic goals, for example going on an all celery diet is may be pragmatic for an animal, but not necessarily for humans. So begin with setting small goals and build them up over time so that you don't push yourself or your body to the limit.
This will then help you when you identify your ideal body weight. For example if you are 5 foot 5 with a particular build, if you look online or go to an expert dietician they will be able to tell you the exact weight that matches your body type. And actually on the Nintendo Wii fitness game, after you input specific details such as your height and age, it will weight you and tell you whether you are overweight or underweight or exactly the right weight for your build and tell you how much by. This is a great and practical way of doing this if you own a Wii at home. By doing this it will give you something to work towards keeping it realistic.
The second point is identifying your exercising your exercise. This involves choosing the exercise that you enjoy most. I love running whilst others may detest it. I hate swimming whilst others may love it! It's simply finding the activity you love so that you don't see exercise as a chore so you will be able to stick to it for longer and truly benefit from your routinely activity plans.
