We have all tried to keep our weight at the same level or tried to lose weight at one time or another. There are a million and one diets and programs out there, some are pretty far fetched. 1.Before you even start your weight loss program, you must get yourself in the right frame of mind. You must promise yourself that this will be a good experience and you will be happy that you are going to lose weight.

You will have to just learn to think and act healthy, start an exercise program, and most importantly, you will have to find other things to do when you are board besides eat.

You must learn how to effectively burn calories and how to not take in hidden calories. You may even have to retrain yourself on how to eat. There is a way to eat slowly and get full on less food. Learn how your body burns and stores fat. These things will help immensely when you actually begin your weight loss program.
4.You must never skip a meal. If you miss a meal, yes, you take in less calories but your metabolism slows down to conserve calories in case you do it again. You must eat on a regular basis to keep your metabolism going strong. This is very, very, important.
5.The last thing to do before you start your diet and exercise program is consult your doctor and get his advise after he gives you a check up to make sure you are healthy enough for the program you are contemplating.
6.You must increase your activity level, instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. Instead of driving to the park, walk. Do some actives outdoors, like gardening? These simple things will give you extra activities to speed up your metabolism and burn extra calories.
7.One of the best ways to burn extra fat is to walk; you should set aside 15-30 minutes per day and walk. This will do wonders for your results.
8.Many people find it helpful to get a "weight loss partner". You can encourage and challenge each other to make things interesting and a little competitive.
9.Research and learn about healthy eating habits. Learn which foods are good for you and your diet. You can try new recipes to keep things interesting, fun, and tasty.
10.You can cut down on calorie intake greatly by not using oil when you cook and eating light dressings and mayonnaise. There are many "light versions" of the foods we eat every day. Every calorie counts.
