Step One - Figure out the Why
What is the need to work out? We should be honest with our self. Every consultation I have conducted, almost all my clients are unsure about what exactly they want. They are still not sure about the main motivator behind carrying out such fitness exercises.
The truth is that everybody wants to look beautiful and attractive. In reality the wish to improve your look is the most significant motivator.
So after a thorough conversation, I got the real reason. Past soreness and failures may be one of the reason and depending on that new goals and future ambitions are set up.
Everybody has a different perception. Somebody can be very comfortable taking his shirt off at the beach while others may be happy doing the otherwise. The most important thing is to stay alert and motivated and to establish is the WHY.
Step Two - The What and When
What is the real reason behind such an effort? What do you want to achieve and by how long? I know the real reason, well everyone wants to look better.
There are three major ways on how to look good which have work wonders with the clients in order of importance from least to most vital:
1.) Scale weight: This is the least effective goal for anyone who wants to be physically fit.
Though Body fat percentage would be a better alternative, it's too imprecise to carry it on your own or hire a fitness trainer for that purpose.
And apart from that body weight tend to fluctuate because of hydration, menstrual cycles and diet.
2.) Dress Size: This is the easiest of judging out whether you have reduced or not. Majority of people would look good if they reduce weight.
Pick any dresses which you want to wear. Don't deteriorate your goals because you think it's unattainable!
3.) Digital images: Pictures never lie, that's a hard core reality. Pictures are the best option through which you can assess whether you have reduced or not. Take an old snap. Make your near and dear one know that you are ready for any kind of change.
Take a dress which will look good on you. If you aspire to have flat abs and want to reduce around your hips than take an image of your abs and hips.
Take image yours from the front, side and rear. Take pictures bi-weekly or monthly until you manage to get your target. Clients who have failed to take pictures regret after thay manage to attain their target. Your photograph would have been a prized possession which you would have cherished throughout.
Step Three - Scheduling and Preparing for Hurdles.
What are the biggest hurdles you have ever faced while accomplishing your goal? What have you learnt from your failures?
Now you must know what your goals are and would have planned for any obstacles you would have come across.
One of the most frequent excuses which I have heard from most of the people is.. "I'm too busy to go for fitness training ".
It is a sheer excuse if you say that you are too busy and don't have even 30 minutes to spare.
Try to spend some quality time with yourself and don't try to make excuses and don't dare to think of postponing because once you start exercising it's a lot more entertaining than you would have expected. Try to be truthful with yourself.
OK, by now you must have your specific goals and time limit to accomplish it. Be specific about what you want whether it's the scale weight, dress/pant size or your friends nuptial? Be precise!
What are the hurdles and what are the ways to overcome them? You should plan everything.
