Let's face it. Men are just different when it comes to weight loss. They tend to stack on the weight in different places than a woman does. Weight loss is possible for men when small lifestyle changes are made. Most men I know are not good at sticking religiously to some diet or another. In this article I'm going to focus on how just making some small changes to daily habits can have very impressive results!
Drink more water. Most men would rather drink coffee, beer or wine than drink a glass of water but any weight loss program for men needs to include this vital tip. You don't have to drink gallon everyday, just a little more than you do now. Did you know that drinking a glass of water before a meal tends to reduce the amount of food you eat, aids with digestion and assists with lubrication of joints like the knees and ankles. The importance of this last point will become apparent in the next tip.
Walk a little more each day. Most men would rather drive a car or take a cab than be seen dead walking or exercising. If your knees and ankles can't take the weight anymore, even considering extra walking is going to be an issue. That's why drinking just one glass of water before each meal is going to make a big difference. How can you fit a little more walking into your already busy day, you ask? The answer is to take the stairs instead of the elevator. If you work on the 5th floor, get off at the 3rd and walk up the last two flights. Park the car a little further away from the office or the shops and walk the extra distance. You get the idea. Even a busy man on a weight loss crusade can find ways like this to walk a little more.
If you really are serious about weight loss, I can't recommend highly enough the purchase of a water purifier. Did you know that tap water can often contain hundreds of impurities including chlorine. Scientists have long known that chlorine is one of the most dangerous chemicals going around. I'm not going to go into all the reasons why chlorine and a host of other dangerous chemicals are added to our water supply and all the reasons why they are dangerous for your heath, but you can eliminate them by using a water filter.
Eat just a little more fruit, vegetables and salads. Eating a diet of fatty foods is destined to make you fatter and less healthy. Even if it's just a little more fruit like an apple or an orange, a little more vegetables, especially leafy green vegetables like spinach and bok choy and a little more salad like lettuce, tomato and cucumber will have a big result. Weight loss for men is all about making a series of small changes to daily habits and routines.
Drink a little less alcohol. This one tip alone is going to be a big factor for men who are serious about losing weight, building muscle and keeping the weight off for good. Remember the tip about drinking more water? The more water you drink the less alcohol you'll be able to consume and the less hungry you will be also.
My final weight loss tip for men is that you can everything you want but do it in moderation. You really can eat anything and everything you want but simply don't overdo it. If you drink more water, walk a little more, eat more of the foods that are good for you you can also enjoy a beer or two, have take-out once a week, cook up some bacon and eggs occasionally and enjoy your new lifestyle where losing weight and feeling good is all part of your new routine.
