Absolutely, you can succeed with your weight loss program without starving! I am sharing with you these 8 simple steps that helped me stop the yo-yo dieting effect, losing 80 pounds from 230 pounds and keeping the weight off for over 3 years. I assume you are already committed to lose weight and keeping the weight off. Certainly, losing weight and dropping inches can be entertaining and a positive experience.
Hence, let's start with a positive attitude and cheer for the success of your weight loss program. By any means, feel free to adjust the steps based on your lifestyle, available time, food taste, and so on. The main point is to take consistent steps to lose weight while keeping the weight off too. Hence, if I succeeded with my weight loss program, certainly, YOU can succeed with your weight loss program too. I believe in you if you are committed to lose that extra weight and burn fat. Yes, YOU CAN DO IT!
1. Have a realistic weight loss goal. Setting unrealistic weight loss goals might sabotage your weight loss program. For example, losing weight graduall, but permanently. It is better than losing 5 or 10 pounds in 2 days and then gaining it all back, if not more! Visualize the NEW you! For example, have a BEFORE photo and a space for the AFTER photo!
2. I strongly encourage you to have a motivational partner, a friend or family member who knows about your weight loss program to exchange views. The purpose is to be accountable, having a friend when you feel down is helpful, or to celebrate your progress! You are not alone during your weight loss journey. It is a team: Official Overweight No More! I am here fore you!
3. Feel your weight loss program as your best partner, a friend, not as a burden. Adjust specific weight loss tips based on your lifestyle. Remember, it is your very own roadmap to achieve your new body, make necessary modifications. Take necessary precaution; add your own incentives to reward your achievements, not necessarily food rewards, but clothing, a new CD, travel, movies, things that you enjoy. My reward was buying tight shirts!
4. Do not follow rigorous diets. It does not work in the real world (I guess you already found out this reality). Instead, have a healthy shopping guide handy. Mark the products, ingredients you like or new healthy ingredients you would like to try.
5. Read food labels, nutritional values. Although there is no general standard diet, I suggest you eat every 3 hours and have daily at least 2 cups of green tea to speed up your metabolism. You can have 2 main meals and the rest small snacks. See what works for you. A successful weight loss plan requires eating healthy not starving.
6. Have a balanced personal weight loss regime. Do not see it as a diet, but a healthy lifestyle. Include exercises, healthy meals, and your nutritional supplements, if needed. Exercise 3 times a week cardio 30-60 minutes, and every 2 days weight lifting to tone your muscles and avoid stretch marks.
7. Do not be obsessed with the scale! Dropping inches is important, weight gradually. See how good you are looking and enjoy your transformation to a healthy figure, celebrate each progress!
8. Finally, this is my main advice. Keep a daily weight loss journal to follow your progress. This will help you analyze successful areas and weak areas. For instance, you can check whether you drink your 6-8 glasses of water daily, how many exercises you did, consuming enough protein/carbs, having your nutritional supplements, etc. You can also register your daily mood or mark your favorite snacks/meal of the day. It is your guide, your main critic, your main advisor.
HINT: When analyzing your progress do not get discouraged if failing in specific areas, but mark it as a successful sign for improvement. Otherwise, you would have never found out why you were failing. Constantly modify your weight loss program to make it work. Sounds good? Awesome!
Hey, you already took the most important step to succeed with your weight loss program, which was taken the firm decision to start losing weight. Now, make it work for you. You can make your weight loss program successful. I know you can. So, go for it! If you need a motivational friend, here I am standing next to you and saying Overweight No More! You can do it.
